A Pool House in Seattle? Yes, We Can Paint That!

It’s not every day you see a house with a pool in Seattle. So, we were thrilled to have the recent opportunity to work on on a pool house and revitalize one of these rare outdoor spaces. This project involved painting a newly constructed pool house, overhang, and fence. Our client recently had these various structures built in their backyard that they wanted painted to match the color scheme on the main house. In this blog, we highlight the transformation and process of painting these areas!

Pool House

The newly constructed pool house had new siding, trim, and downspouts which were to be painted. The structure was made with pre-primed HardiePlank boards, so the siding prep involved cleaning and caulking the seams. The trim and soffits involved the same prep work while also priming areas as needed. This work was done with a two coat spray application. Check out the photos below of the transformation!

Pool Overhang

Another component of this project was the overhang structure next to the pool. This area is definitely the focal point in this backyard oasis, providing a stylish and functional space for relaxation and entertainment. The overhang followed the same color scheme as the pool house for the exterior parts. We applied a clear coat marine varnish to the natural wood overhang piece. This type of product acts as a sealer against moisture and does not actually pigment the wood. Here is the transformation!

Wood Fence

The final part of this job was to paint the fence to match the grey color of the pool house siding. We used the Sherwin Williams Woodscapes product in a solid stain. We also painted the entry trellis in the white trim color to add some nice contrast. The grey color used for this project in all areas is called Classic French Gray (SW 0077) by Sherwin Williams. The white trim color is called Westhighland White (SW 7566). These colors are matches to the ones used on the main house at this property. Check out the fence transformation below!

Transforming these newly built structures in this cool backyard was a fun and unique project.
