What to Binge-Watch During Quarantine

Quarantine has been hard on all of us. Because of this, many people have ben looking to the streaming services for TV to captivate them. Check our our guide on some of the best shows on the streaming services to get you through quarantine.

Top Shows to watch on Netflix:

Greys Anatomy– Grey’s Anatomy is a medical drama based in Seattle! While this show can be a real tearjerker, it’s drama-packed and currently has 15 seasons on Netflix so it’s great for binge-watching. Even if you have already watched Grey’s Anatomy, it’s definitely worth rewatching just for the sheer amount of drama that goes on throughout the seasons.

On My Block– On My Block is a Netflix Original that is relatively new and follows a group of friends making their way through high school and local gang activity. This show has pretty amazing characters that will really suck you into their storyline. The show puts an interesting spin on the average teen/coming of age and provides a unique perspective that gives an added dimension to the series.

New Girl- New Girl is not a new show but it is a hilarious classic. There are several seasons to watch and it has both an adorable romance you can root for and tons of laugh out loud moments. New Girl follows Jess, a girl who has recently been dumped and now finds herself needing a place to live with three men she met on craigslist.

Love is Blind- Love is blind is the perfect way to get your trashy reality show fix during the quarantine. Love is Blind is about several contestants trying to find their future partner without ever having seen each other.

Tiger King- There’s no way you haven’t heard of Tiger King by now, and if you haven’t just let me say this outrageous docuseries is worth the hype. Tiger King is hard to describe, but at its core, it is a mystery/crime documentary that follows the drama in the big cat community in America. However, no description can do this rollercoaster of a series justice, it is incredibly entertaining and worth the watch.

Outlander- Outlander is a historical drama about a woman who has found herself sent back in time into 1743 Scotland from her present age of Post-WWII. This show has incredible depth and characters you will love and hate at times. If you were disappointed by the end of Game of Thrones and you love period pieces, I recommend this show. It’s equal parts action, history, drama, and romance.

Top Movies to Watch on Netflix During Quarantine

The Dark Knight- This has been my favorite movie I’ve watched during quarantine! The Dark Knight shows Christian Bale and Heath Ledger in their award-winning roles of Batman and the Joker. Although this story is obviously not a new one, rewatching this quality movie will reignite your passion for the Batman series.

20th Century Women- 20th Century Women is set in 1979 California, where a single mother is struggling to figure out the intricacies of raising a teenage son during an age of cultural change. The movie shows great performances by Annette Benning, Greta Gerwig, Elle Fanning, and Lucas Jade Zumann. It is a heartfelt story that many can relate to.

The Craft- The Craft is a cult classic about teenage girls in high school who learn to fight back against the demoralizing forces of High School and their peers through the use of witchcraft. Although a bit cheesy and overdramatic at times, The Craft is entertaining to watch and the added dimension of witchcraft makes it incredibly interesting.

The Fundamentals of Caring- This film follows the story of Ben Benjamin( Paul Rudd) who takes up caregiving after a personal tragedy. He soon starts caring for a young disabled teen named Trevor. (Craig Roberts). The two then embark on a road trip together.

The Florida Project- A dramedy starring Willem Defoe, Brooklynn Prince, and Valeria Cotto. The movie takes place just outside of Disney World at a small motel where a woman and her daughter live paycheck to paycheck.
